Lent/Easter

It's funny, every so often you read something that smacks you between the eyes as being so true and yet it had never dawned on you before. That happened to me earlier in the week when I read this post from Janna over at Mustard Seeds. I have been following her blog since last Easter when I stumbled across her great post on creating a "Hill of Calvary" with your children.

Her point was that given how much Christmas music we fill our ears with, given how much more significant Holy Week should be for us, we should be doing at least as much. She encouraged us to create our own Lenten Playlists. I thought the idea was BRILLIANT and tonight, I sat down with itunes, my music and a hymnbook and assembled my listening for the next three weeks. I thought I would share what I included, just in case you might be interested in doing the same. It's a pretty eclectic list but then, my musical tastes are pretty eclectic:

Jesus Messiah (Hello Love) 4:49 Chris Tomlin WOW Hits 2009
Hosanna (Praise Is Rising) 4:32 Brenton Brown Wow Worship
Hosanna 4:55 Selah Wow Worship
Come To The Cross 4:07 Michael W. Smith WOW Hits 2008

Jesus, Remember Me 3:23 Taizé Laudate Omnes Gentes
The Wonderful Cross 6:25 Michael W. Smith WOW Hymns
The Old Rugged Cross 4:25 Bart Millard WOW Hymns
Lead Me to the Cross 4:32 Francesca Battistelli Wow Worship
When I Survey the Wondrous Cross 3:59 Selah Be Still My Soul
O Sacred Head Now Wounded 4:47 Selah Greatest Hymns
Mighty to Save 5:20 Hillsong United Wow Worship
Happy Day 3:24 Tim Hughes Wow Worship
He Reigns 4:55 Newsboys Adoration: The Worship Album
Thine Be the Glory 3:11 Spring Harvest Live Worship 2003

I'll try and include some of the other things I am doing to prepare for Easter in the next week or so.

What would be on your Lenten playlist? How do you prepare for Easter?
