This was yet another fun day. One thing that I really want to do but don't have time for during the year is to go to programmes at our local library. One Saturday a month, it's "Crafty Kids" and we decided to go. Normally, the age range is 3 - 8 but they allowed us to sneak LB in as well. As you can see, he loved the painting part and ended up absolutely covered in paint. The added surprise was that two of our very best friends were also along, which made it more fun.
This was also the day of our monthly "friends" dinner. We met at the home of our friends with the pool. It was the perfect day for it! Pk and R spent the entire time in the pool. Of course, there was the odd argument (who can spent much time with 5 year olds without that) but overall, everyone had a marvelous time. LB adored sitting on the edge and splashing and repeatedly throwing all the pool toys into the water and yelling, "Splash!"
As always, we ate too much (grilled pork, shrimp, meatballs, the yummiest broccoli slaw) and the ice cream sandwiches were the perfect way to end the meal.
Our friends live on a lovely little cul-de-sac and there is very little traffic so we were able to play out from and if the ball went into the road, while the adults were in charge of ball retrieval, we didn't have to worry about the kids and cars. LB was determined to get into the action with the big boys!
Before we left. LB discovered R's drum kit. I am afraid... very afraid!
